Fishwheel was painted while I was visited my son, Chad, at an Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game research camp near Kalskag on the lower Kuskokwim River in western Alaska. It shows Chad and his partner, Samantha, tagging a Chum Salmon before releasing it back into the river. For more information about this process see my slide show of our trip to the camp .
